The Warm Front Grant provides a package of insulation and/or heating measures up to a maximum value of £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is involved), less the value of all works previously completed in the property under Warm Front.

Improvements the Warm Front can provide are: Loft insulation, Draught proofing, Cavity-wall insulation, Hot water tank insulation, Energy efficient light bulbs, Central heating or a Glass fronted fire.

Warm Front is only open to home owners or private tenants who receive certain income or disability benefits. Warm Front is a Government grant aimed at people who: are 60 years old or over, are disabled, have a child under 16 years old or are pregnant.

Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) Phase 1

Government - Renewable Energy Grants for ELECTRICITY generating technologies are no longer available. The scheme has now been replaced by the Feed in Tariff

If you are a householder interested in generating your own HEAT you can apply on line on the www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk website. The programme is managed for the DECC by the Energy Saving Trust.

You can apply for up to £2,500 per property towards the cost of microgeneration technologies.

The Government has announced a new incentive for ELECTRICITY generating technologies called Clean Energy Cashback

Small scale low carbon electricity technologies eligible for Feed in Tariffs include:

  • Wind
  • Solar photovoltaics (pv)
  • Hydro
  • Anaerobic digestion
  • Non renewable micro-CHP

Energy Suppliers' Offers

The Government’s Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) means energy suppliers with a certain number of customers operating in Great Britain are obliged to achieve targets for home energy efficiency. The suppliers therefore supply a range of offers which significantly reduce the cost of installing energy efficiency measures.

Help with the Installation of Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation

Discounts are open to any private householder, regardless of who supplies your gas and electricity. In some cases there may be additional help if you are a customer.

Most Local Authorities provide grants and offers for local residents to install certain energy efficiency measures in their home.
